Is Free Design Setup truly free?

Yes. Free Design Setup is genuinely included with eligible print orders at no added cost. There is no hidden fee, no minimum quantity requirement, and no separate line item on your invoice. The product price you see in the calculator already includes design setup as part of the order.

What files should I send for Free Design Setup?

Send your highest-resolution logo file, brand color values in hex, Pantone, or CMYK format, all text content you want on the piece typed out clearly, any reference images or style examples, and a note about the product size, quantity, and finish. Can you work with a Word document or PowerPoint?

Yes. We convert Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, Publisher files, and other non-print-standard formats into press-ready PDFs. Send the file along with your order number and layout notes. We handle the conversion, check the output for print compliance, and send a proof for your review.

What if my logo is only available as a low-resolution JPEG?

Send the logo anyway. We assess the quality, apply AI-assisted upscaling where it is technically feasible, and advise you honestly in the proof if the resolution is still insufficient for the product size requested. You then decide whether to supply a better source file or approve the print as-is.

How does AI fit into Free Design Setup?

AI handles mechanical tasks like background removal, logo upscaling, color profile tagging, and layout grid suggestions to save time during file preparation. Every AI-generated output is reviewed and corrected by a human designer before it is included in the proof sent to you for approval.

How many revisions are included?

One complimentary revision round is included with Free Design Setup. Reply to the proof email with specific revision requests written in plain language. No design vocabulary is required. Our designer makes the changes and sends an updated proof. Additional revision rounds beyond the first may be subject to a fee.

What does a digital proof show?

The digital proof shows your artwork at the exact print dimensions with bleed marks and safe-zone indicators visible, along with full-resolution color rendering. It is sent by email so you can review it on any device before giving approval for production to begin.

What should I check when I receive the proof?

Check all text including phone numbers, addresses, website URLs, and email addresses for accuracy. Confirm that image placement and orientation are correct. Verify that nothing critical sits inside the bleed zone near the edges. Review colors against your brand standard as closely as your monitor allows before approving.

Can I skip the proof and go straight to print?

Proof-free options are available for some standard products where variables are minimal. For any custom design using Free Design Setup, a proof is always sent first. Skipping the proof on a custom piece is not recommended, as the proof is your opportunity to confirm the file is exactly right.

Does Free Design Setup include creating a logo from scratch?

No. Creating a logo from nothing, developing original illustrations, or building complex brand identity systems from scratch are Paid Graphic Design services. Free Design Setup works with content and assets you already have and prepares them for press, but it does not create original creative work.

Can you match my exact brand colors?

We set up your file using the CMYK values you provide. Supply Pantone or CMYK values from your brand guide for the closest possible color match on press. Some color shift from screen to print is normal and expected, and our proof lets you review color before approving.

What happens if my file is too low resolution for the product?

We notify you clearly in the proof with a specific explanation of the resolution issue. You have three options: supply a higher resolution version of the image, choose a smaller product size where the resolution is sufficient, or approve the print while understanding the image may appear soft.

What file types do you accept?

We accept PDF, AI, EPS, PSD, SVG, PNG, JPG, TIFF, Word, and PowerPoint. If you have a file type not on this list, email it to us and we will advise on whether we can work with it or suggest a conversion before submission.

Can Free Design Setup handle double-sided print files?

Yes. Provide content for both sides and clearly indicate which is front and which is back. We set up both panels to print specifications, confirm alignment of the back relative to the front, and include both sides in the proof so you can review the complete piece before approving.

Is Free Design Setup available for all products?

Free Design Setup is available for most standard print products. Highly complex projects such as multi-page publications, specialty finishing combinations, or projects requiring extensive original illustration may require Paid Graphic Design. We advise you at the start of the job if that is the case for your order.

How do I request Free Design Setup?

Can I request Free Design Setup for an existing order?

Yes. Email support@cheaprushprinting.com with your order number and the files you want setup applied to. We can add Free Design Setup to an existing order as long as production has not started. Include your layout notes and any brand assets in the same email.

What if I approve the proof and then notice an error?

Contact us immediately by phone or email. If production has not started, we can reissue the proof with corrections. Once production has started, the approved file is already on press and stopping it may not be possible. Changes at that stage typically require a new order.

The service covers: file format conversion (Word, JPG, PNG, and others to print-ready PDF), CMYK color profile correction for accurate ink output, bleed and safe zone setup to industry specifications, resolution assessment and upscaling when technically feasible, and basic layout assembly when you provide logo and text separately.

It does not include original illustration, complex multi-page layouts, or brand identity creation from scratch. Those fall under our Paid Graphic Design service. Free Design Setup is for customers who have content and need it made print-ready.

After file setup, you receive a digital email proof showing your artwork at the exact print dimensions with bleed marks, safe zone indicators, and full-resolution color. Review it carefully on a desktop monitor in a well-lit environment.

Check all text including phone numbers and addresses, confirm image orientation and placement, verify that nothing important sits inside the bleed zone, and compare colors to your brand standard as closely as your monitor allows.

Reply to the proof email with Approve or with specific numbered revision notes. Once approved, your file goes to production. Changes after approval require a new proof round and may affect the production schedule.
